Abstract: Starting from the new development concept, this paper constructs an evaluation index system of high-quality economic development, measures the level of high-quality economic development of 30 provinces (cities and autonomous regions)in China with this system, and analyzes space-time driving factors of high-quality economic development. The results show that the high quality economic development level of 30 provinces (cities and autonomous regions) is on the rise, but the development is unbalanced. The high quality economic development in the eastern region is higher than that in the central and western regions, but is also unbalanced in the eastern region. There is a significant positive spatial correlation between the high-quality economic development among provinces, and the spatial distribution pattern is "high in the east, mild in the center and low in the west". Innovation, openness, and coordination are important factors that promote high-quality regional economic development. Economic foundation, green development, and shared development also play a role in promoting high-quality regional economic development. However, the role of each factor in promoting high-quality regional economic development varies from region to region.
