Abstract:
Cellulose aerogels are the third generation aerogels after inorganic aerogels and polymer aerogels, which combination the excellent characteristics of the first and the second generation aerogels in common with their own excellent features, such as renewable, good biocompatibility, easy degradation, excellent flexibility and compression resistance. These features make them promissing environmentally friendly materials. Among the cellulose aerogels, In this paper, recent researches on nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) aerogels, including the preparation and applications in the fields of heat insulation, energy storage and adsorption applications are reviewed. Finally, the future development trend of NFC arogel is prospected.
