Abstract:
Polyphenylene Oxide (PPO) is a typical high-performance general-purpose engineering plastic. It has outstanding electrical insulation, excellent water resistance, and excellent flame retardancy, etc., and is widely used in social life. However, due to its ultra-high melt viscosity, PPO has the fatal disadvantage of being difficult to process. In order to further improve its performance and further expand the application field, PPO has been alloyed and modified. Polyphenylene Oxide/ Polyamide (PPO/PA) alloy material combines the characteristics of PPO's high heat resistance, good toughness, PA easy to form, and good oil resistance. It has been widely used in electronics, machinery, automobile industry and other fields. This article reviews the research and development of compatibilization, toughening, and strengthening of Polyphenylene Oxide/Polyamide alloy materials, and introduces its development trends in detail.
