Abstract:
Pseudopelletierine is an important alkaloid which exists in the pomegranate stem bark, root bark and pericarp. Pseudopelletierine has a unique 9- azabicyclo 3.3.1 nonane structure which is the analogue of tropinone and main skeleton of some active substances. We summarized the extraction, synthesis methods of pseudopelletierine and the application of both biological activity and synthetic aspects of its derivatives. Meanwhile, the studies of pseudopelletierine extraction, biological activities, novel pseudopelletierine derivatives synthesis and application are the future research direction.
