Abstract
Yuzixi is a mountain river with large sediment content, therefore the sediment wear of the turbine runner in Yuzixi Hydropower Station is very serious. By means of numerical calculation and experimental analysis, the sand-water flow in the turbine blades in this station was numerically simulated, and the sediment wear of turbine blades was tested. The wear conditions of the turbine runner were obtained, the wear life of the runner was estimated, and the anti-wear measures were put forward. The research results provide an important basis for optimizing the turbine operation strategy of Yuzixi Hydropower Station, and can also be used to guide the operation personnel of the power station to avoid the operation conditions with serious wear and tear. In this way, it can ensure the safe operation of the turbine, reduce the wear and tear of the runner, extend its service life and reduce the power loss to the greatest extent. At the same time, it also has important guiding significance for the research and operation of other turbines working in sediment-laden rivers.
