Reconstruction of Vehicle-pedestrian Impact Accident Based on EDR Data

  • In order to reconstruct the human-vehicle accident reliably, a new reconstruction method of human-vehicle accident was explored. Based on the analysis of the event types, data and their reading methods recorded by the automotive event data recorder (EDR), a method path for human-vehicle accident reconstruction using EDR data is proposed in combination with simulation software, and a case with sufficient trace and video information is used to demonstrate and validate the method. The results show that the EDR data and simulation software can be used to reconstruct and simulate the accident quickly and accurately, and the reliability and practicability are strong. The research results are of reference value to the identification and analysis of human-vehicle accidents.
