Research of Time-based Separation on the Aircraft Landing Runway Capacity Model

  • With the rapid development of the civil aviation, the current aircraft landing runway capacity is unable to meet the needs of the future. At present, our country mainly implements the distance-based separation(DBS) which is too conservative. Therefore, this paper introduces the time-based aircraft landing separation, establishes the time-based separation(TBS) on the aircraft landing runway capacity model, calculates the TBS separation on the basis of ICAO RECAT, and compares the landing runway capacity of TBS and DBS aircraft under the conditions of no wind and 15 m/s strong headwind. The application of TBS can significantly improve the aircraft landing efficiency, which has practical application value for ATC operation efficiency and improving aircraft landing runway capacity.
