Controller Workload Evaluation Based on Complex Network

  • Air traffic controllers are at the heart of the control work. The magnitude of the controller workload has a direct impact on its working status, and the controller workload analysis is of great significance to maintaining air safety. This paper proposes a complex network integrating the speed obstacle method to evaluate the workload of controllers. First, the velocity obstacle method is used to comprehensively analyze the location information, speed information and other factors to obtain a more reasonable and realistic description of air conditions. Then the relevant index data of complex networks are extracted and analyzed, and the attributes of complex networks are used to evaluate the controller load. Simsimulation results show that the number of aircraft controlled by a controller is an exponential function to the controller workload and a controller should control less than 15 aircrafts. The model reflects the controller load and provides a reasonable method for the controller load evaluation.
