Study on Encapsulation Structure Safety of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell

  • Finite element analysis was used to investigate the influence of reactor packaging on the structural safety of proton exchange membrane fuel cell. The three-dimensional model of proton exchange membrane fuel cell stack composed of ten layers of monomer with five different packaging positions was established by Catia. Hypermesh was used to partition the model. The optimal packaging force and the optimal packaging position were taken as the research objectives. In ANSYS Workbench, the stress distribution and deformation of different bolt packages of the reactor end plate were analyzed and studied, and the reactor end plate with the most uniform deformation was selected for topology optimization design. The results show that the optimal bolt packing force of the reactor model is 2500 N, and the optimal packing position is in the middle of the end plate. The mass of the end plate after topology optimization is reduced by 14.82%, and the stress distribution uniformity is improved to some extent. It provides reference for the packaging and endplate design of the reactor.
