Abstract
With the development of functional design of electronic devices, the flexible self-supporting graphene-based composite supercapacitor electrode material with multi-energy storage mechanism has been one of the research hotspots. In order to improve the electrochemical properties of graphene based flexible, free-standing electrode for supercapacitors, both mechanisms of electrochemical double layer capacitance and pseudocapacitance have been applied. Herein, we summarized recent developments on graphene based flexible, free-standing composite electrodes for supercapacitors, including the production process and the electrochemical performance that effect by the electrode components such as metal oxides and conductive polymers. Moreover, the development on the investigation of synergistic mechanism of composite components effects on flexible, free-standing composite electrodes was also discussed. The future development trend was also pointed out, which can provide references for the design, construction and performance improvement of functional graphene-based supercapacitor electrode materials.
