Axial Vibration Analysis of Hydrostatic Pressure Mechanical Seal

  • Based on the mechanical kinetic principle, the equations of axial vibration and the differential equation of liquid film pressure were established, and solved out. Under the assumption of no affection from the outside of seal system, the influence of the stator's end parameters(turning radius and end cone angle) on liquid film stiffness, liquid damping and stator axial vibration was concluded while seal was affected by the axial perturbation. The results showed that with the turning radius increased, liquid film stiffness became smaller, liquid damping became bigger, the vibration damping transform from weakly-damped to over-damped; with the end cone angel increased, liquid film stiffness became smaller, liquid damping became smaller, the vibration damping transform from over-damped to weakly-damped.
