Determination of Oleuropein in Olive Leaves by HPLC-DAD

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to establish a method for qualitative and quantitative analysis oleuropein in olive leaves by high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector (HPLC-DAD). Reversed-phase HPLC is used to determine the contents of oleuropein in olive leaves by DAD with Akasil C18 column, using 23% acetonitrile as mobile phase under UV light of 230 nm at 35 ℃ and 1.0 mL/min.The Results indicate that the calibration curves of oleuropein have good linearity over the range from 0.0125 to 0.4 mg/mL with a correlation coeffient of 0.999 9, the yield of oleuropein in olive leaves is 0.39%.
