Research on Turning Simulation for Slender Shafts

  • Based on the mechanical model and force analysis of ordinary turning, a method for slender shaft turning by symmetric dual-tool is introduced. The mechanical model and force analysis of double tools are established while the simulation analysis of machining accuracy is conducted by using finite element software ANSYS, confirming the feasibility of dual-tools cutting. The study indicates that turning using two symmetric tools can obviously improve the machining accuracy.
