An Improved RSSI Ranging Algorithm Based on Distance Between Anchor Nodes

  • The node localization is one of the core support technology based on RSSI (received signal strength indicator) of WSN (wireless sensor network). In the actual application environment, because of multi-path, diffraction, obstacles and other factors, RSSI in the positioning process will produce distance error.An improved FCM algorithm based on anchor nodes is brought up, mainly taking account of the measurement precision and eliminate path dispersion index. This algorithm uses FCM model to deal with the RSSI which is obtained in sensitive region and the first-class RSSI is screened out. In this algorithm, it uses the known distance and measured RSSI between anchor nodes to correct the distance by being measured RSSI value, and eliminates path dispersion index. Simulation results show that this algorithm has a better estimation accuracy than classical RSSI algorithm.
