Study on Temperature Field for Vehicle Front Brake Disc

  • In order to obtain temperature field distribution, two situations are calculated including one time regular brake and three times brake. Considering the influence of the chance of specific heat and thermal conductivity to temperature, the simulation of braking process is operated using software ANSYS.The results show that the disc temperature can reach as high as 145℃ in 12.5s after one regular braking with velocity 90 km/h. Temperature can reach 340℃ in 62.5s after braking 3 times.In the beginning of braking, the temperature of disc rises rapidly with the intensive heat flow input, and the temperature drop slowly after its peak through convection.Compared with one braking, the temperature for braking 3 times is obviously high. Increase in specific heat and thermal conductivity can effectively improve the temperature of brake disc.
