Research Progress of Hydrotalcite-like Compounds and their Application in Corrosion Protection

  • Hydrotalcite-like compounds (HTs) are a class of clay material with a special layered structure, which is used widely in many areas. This paper reviews the properties of HTs and the merits and drawbacks of the synthetic methods. The latest progress of the application as anti-corrosion conversion coatings is introduced. Emphasis on the in situ growth method of HTs and the application in corrosion protection of magnesium alloys is discussed. Finally, the possible way of future study on HTs films is proposed.
