Influence of Constant Torque and Constant Power Control Strategies on Floating Wind Turbines

  • The floating wind turbine model and support structure's dynamics model were described, and the wind turbine's control strategy above rated wind speed was discussed, and the wind turbine was modeled by using software FAST, then three kinds of floating wind turbine were simulated using constant torque and constant power respectly. The simulation results showed that the constant power control strategy was better than others for considering to reduce the fluctuation of electrical power output.
