Development and Experimental Validation of Engine Rubber Mount FE Model

  • The Mooney-Rivlin model was utilized to describe the constitutive model of rubber materials.The material uniaxial compression test of rubber was used to determine material parameters of rubber.According to simplified model of rubber mounting, we calculated prestress and excitation frequency.CATIA was utilized to establish three-dimensional model of rubber mounting and the hexahedral was used to establish finite element model in Hypermesh.We studied the model with the tool ANSYS and processed the experimental data in the enviroment MATLAB.According to the hysteresis loop obtained, we calculated the rubber mounting static stiffness, dynamic stiffness and lag angle.We designed a test system for the rubber mounting characteristic.The test system was used to test the rubber mounting.Compared the FEM results with experimental results, the correctness of the proposed finite element model is verified.
