Study on the Optimization Method of the Gas Consumption for the Dual Fuel Vehicle Used the VVT Engine

  • In this paper, items of the dual-fuel vehicle with the VVT engine was re-calibrated and optimized, such as the jet pulse of the natural gas ECU, ignition timing and the intake VVT of the gasoline ECU. Experiments were carried out to test the calibration and optimization method. The results show that the method can increase the maximum speed 3km / h, and 0-100km / h gear shift time can be reduced 1.6s, and the 80-120km / h accelerating time can be reduced 6s, and test conditions constant gas consumption can be reduced. The gas consumption can be reduced by 0.23 kg / 100km in the NEDC cycle, and the natural dynamics and economy can be improved together. The method, together with intake VVT, can make the combustion gas saving reach the maximum.
