Application of Integrated Advance Geologic Prediction to Karst Tunnels

  • In the karst area, the main factors that restrict the normal construction of tunnel are rich water, karst and fault fracture zone. Advance geological prediction is an important technical measure to eliminate the excavation of the tunnel in front of poor geological conditions, which has become an indispensable step in underground construction. This paper puts forward the comprehensive geological prediction of karst area tunnels by using "the geological survey +TSP+TEM+ advanced drilling". a comprehensive process was established based on geological investigation method. For the process, the TSP is used as long distance aided detection technology and small coil transient electromagnetic method is the core method of forecasting. Finally, the advanced geological drilling is utilized to verify the comprehensive forecasting process. For a tunnel project in karst area, The "forecast method of comprehensive geological survey method +TSP+TEM+ advanced drilling" approach have the effect of improving the accuracy of forecasting.
