The Research of New Bainitic Steel for Heavy-load Railway Frog

  • Based on the development of heavy-load railway in our country and the application of passenger railway bainitic steel frog, new bainitic steels for heavy railway frog was studied in this paper. Bainitic microstructure in large sample is obtained by heat treatment in air cooling. With the high strength and toughness, the new bainitic steels can replace traditional high manganese steel frog material. The research shows that austenite-bainite multiphase obtained in normalizing is a kind of carbide-free bainite. The tensile strength and the impact strength of the material have reached 1400MPa and 39.8J respectively. The research demonstrates excellent mechanical properties of the new bainite steel for heavy-load railway frog.
