The Research Progress on Preparation of SEBS Grafts

Styrene-ethylene/butadiene-styrene triblock copolymer (SEBS) grafts with the polarity or reactivity of graft group play a role in compatibilization and toughening of polymer composites as well as some new properties occurring in the materials. Therefore, they have been important researches at home and abroad. The preparation methods of SEBS grafts are reviewed in this paper. They include free radical grafting, surface ultraviolet grafting, atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) grafting and other grafting methods. The mechanism and advantages and disadvantages of the grafting methods are introduced. Finally, the development prospects of the high performance, functionalization and engineering of SEBS grafts are prospected. Moreover, the development and application prospect of SEBS grafts are discussed.
