Design of an Aluminum-air Fuel Cell for an Extended-range Prototype Electric Vehicle

  • Based on an existing vehicle chassis, this paper designs a cell system of an extended-range electric vehicle, with aluminum-air fuel cell as auxiliary power. In this paper, the aluminum-air fuel cell system and electrolytic tank system were optimized. The tests of the cell's system and some performance tests of the vehicle were carried out. The results indicate that the design goal of the vehicle's performance, with this aluminum-air fuel cell system, can be reached.
