Closed-loop Test Bench for Beam-steering System Based on VPX Bus

  • It is difficult to find the accurate fault location in beam-steering system test of phased array radar. A design scheme of test bench is presented based on 6U-VPX bus architecture in this paper. Because VPX bus is characterized by rich I/O interfaces, good expansibility and high transmission speed, rapidIO switching and high-speed interconnect technology are used to realizes the automatic test from the beam-steering computer to 360 T/R channels of 20 beam-steering units. Compared with the traditional CPCI bus-based test bench, the average debugging time is shortened from 1 w to 1 d, which provides a useful reference for the automatic test design of phased array radar beam-steering system.
