Abstract
This paper presents an automobile active thermoelectric airconditioning using recovered tail exhaust gas for power generation refrigeration. The waste heat is recycled by using thermoelectric technology (such as thermoelectric generating, thermoelectric cooling) from automobile exhaust in order to obtain cooling capacity for indoor environment. Furthermore, a thermodynamic model for thermoelectric air conditioning is proposed and some correlation parameters coupling with indoor temperature of automobile, exhaust temperature and environment temperature are studied to obtain optimal performance. The results indicate that the exhaust temperature have a great effect on system performance compared with others parameter. The cooling capacity and coefficient of performance would be enhanced by increasing number of thermometric generators. When n=6, the maximum cooling capacity and system efficiency can be obatained, which are 109.92 W and 0.46, respectively.
