Abstract
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a technique that uses different diffusion characteristics of water molecules in different tissues of the human body. In the review, we introduced the basic principles of DTI technology and described in detail the various processing methods and research progress of DTI data in epilepsy, including region of interest, voxel-based analysis and fiber tractography. Finally, we raised several technical challenges and key issues which need to be addressed in the future, including the effects of antiepileptic drugs, fiber tractography algorithms, multimodel neuroimaging, and effective connectivity.
