Abstract: This paper takes social casework documents from L family service center in Guangzhou as an example to conduct content analysis, the research finds that the effectiveness of social casework need to be improved due to only sixty percent of the cases are effective. Binominal logistic model shows that whether clients can utilize resource will affect the effectiveness of social casework. The most important factor is the extent to which clients are involved. Based on these conclusions, it is recommended to boost the effectiveness of social casework by combining multiple approaches, for example, promote clients’ involvement, simultaneously enhance clients’ capacity to make use of resources, and give full play to agency and supervisor.
