Abstract:
The governance of rural living environment has always been an important issue of social grassroots governance. Z Town, Y City of Guangdong Province has achieved positive results in improving living environment by carrying out a plan of "three clear, three demolition and three renovation". However, there are some problems in the process: the connection between the government's propaganda and the villagers' sense of identity; the coordination between the government's environmental policies and the development of enterprises; the agreement of enterprises' cost effectiveness with the villager's smallholder consciousness. The above problems show that there is still room for further improvement in the coordination relationship between multiple subjects in the governance of rural living environment in China. As "leaders", "participators" and "guardians" in the governance process, the government, villagers and enterprises should develop a new relationship and a new pattern of joint governance, mutual assistance, win-win sharing, public interests orientation, villagers' participation, and multi-subject governance.
