基于体认语言学重新解读感叹词

Re-interpretation of Interjections Based on Embodied-Cognitive Linguistics

Abstract: Embodied-Cognitive Linguistics (ECL) thinks that all languages originate from the two basic sources "embodiment (ti)" and "cognition (ren)", based on which the present paper explains and contrasts the main attributes and usage of English and Chinese interjection: embodiment-cognitivity, iconicity, broad and narrow senses, independence, anaclisis, multiple usage, flexibility, variation, complexity, incomplete correspondence, similarity and difference. The author has also distinguished interjection from onomatopoeia. Through our investigation, we have found that there are as many as 300 interjections in English but only about 70 such words in Chinese, which shows that the British are always emotionally exposed while the Chinese are more restrained. This different datum has resulted in the difficulty in translation between English and Chinese, always finding no correspondent words, which can be shown in the appendix with contrast of interjection of English and Chinese.
