Abstract:
Chinese and foreign scholars have been studying Qian Zhongshu's poetics methodology for thirty years since 1979. There are four stages in this researching history in which we can find two main trends. The "four stages" are "the initial period"(1979—1986), "the growth period"(1987—1999), "the argument period"(2000—2007), and "the submerged period"(2008—present). The two main trends refer to the two different research focuses among the scholars: one is called "striking a connection"(da tong), the other is "hermeneutical circle". The analysis of this research history helps us learn from the predecessors' studies as well as summarize their achievements. At the same time, we can find three problems in the contemporary "Qian Studies": the imbalances of the researches, the overlook of the predecessors' achievements, and the concept crisis. It maybe useful to the development of the studies on Qian Zhongshu's poetics methodology if we can find a new perspective.
