Abstract:
Though both Chinese feminist film criticism and western feminist film criticism have been marginalized in academia, there are some significant differences in between, manifest in their respective cultural and historical contexts, major concerns, theories, academic status and influence.By comparing and contrasting, this paper aims to help enhance the understanding and communication between the two, especially to help Chinese feminist film critics aware of the disparity, to learn from their counterparts, and eventually to have its own distinctive and unique voice heard internationally.
