Abstract:
Chen Ziang was not against the concept of modern poetry, but was against the fashion to merely pursue poetic art. Chen Ziang, who was not against the fashion, created a large number of "Wulv" poems (five-character rhyming poetry). Adopting "ancient rhyming pattern", he comprehensively innovated the content, form, style and other aspects of "Wulv" poems of Qi-Liang Dynasty. With the quaint and elegant style, his poems stood out among the delicately refined poems represented by Du Shenyan, Shen Quanqi and Song Zhiwen. His practice to follow "ancient rhyming pattern" is imitated by Peak Tang Dynasty and even the whole Tang Dynasty. His style is pioneering in "Wulv" poems, which becomes the guiding principle for subsequent poets.
