Abstract:
The terms faithfulness and betrayal have been a controversial topic in the field of literary translation until the emergence of the concept of creative treason. Creative treason leads people's attention to cultural concerns.
Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out is one of Mo Yan's masterpieces. The English translation by the American translator Howard Goldblatt enabled the work to spread widely in the English speaking world. This paper chooses the typical example of the English version
Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out from the perspective of creative treason, and compares and analyzes from the five aspects: ecological culture, material culture, social culture, religious culture and linguistic culture. The paper analyzes faithfulness and creative treason, their application and value to reveal, and provides some reference for literary translation.
