Abstract:
Based on the investigation of some Hakka children in schools of Longyan, Fujian Province, this paper finds that the students have not well mastered the Hakka dialect. The causes are multifaceted, including parents of the children, family language environment and the lack of interactive social surrounding. In order to ensure the effective transmission of Hakka dialect in the new era, family education, schools and government departments concerned are all responsible to create a good environment in heritage of the Hakka dialect.
