Abstract: This paper selects a series of dialect words from the period of the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. Then the paper conducts some analyses from the respective of philology, phonology, exegesis and criticism. It cites some examples from ancient books and records, offering explanations of putting lexical connotation before the history of lexicon. Finally the paper offers some vital suggestions for compiling and editing of dialect dictionary.
