Abstract:
Under the background of internationalization of higher education, plenty of local universities and colleges in China have been exploring ESP courses to meet the greater demand of advanced society and students. Referring to the new problems and challenges in the process of the reform on college English teaching and learning (CETL), this paper proposes a cohesion model for CETL of local universities and colleges in the view of ESP, which aims at an integration of EGP, ESP and EGE on college curriculum system. Each curriculum group is divided into elementary, intermediate and advanced levels for three different levels of students. This model in the frame of "3+3+3"is a progressive, dynamic and open system which will provide helpful reference for the further reform of CETL in the local universities and colleges in China.
